Processing Times — Electronic Travel Authorisation

The following timelines represent the standard administrative processing durations for ETA declarations. All timelines are indicative and subject to variation based on application volume, complexity, and prevailing administrative capacity.

Standard Processing Timelines

The administrative processing of Electronic Travel Authorisation declarations is conducted in accordance with the following indicative timelines:

Adjudication Phases

Each submitted declaration progresses through the following administrative phases during adjudication:

Phase I: Preliminary Intake

Upon receipt, the declaration is registered in the administrative system and assigned a unique Application Reference Number. Automated validation checks are conducted to verify data completeness and format compliance. Estimated duration: immediate upon submission.

Phase II: Compliance Verification

The submitted data is cross-referenced against eligibility databases and regulatory requirements. Declarations that do not satisfy the prescribed criteria may be flagged for enhanced review or administrative rejection. Estimated duration: variable.

Phase III: Administrative Adjudication

The declaration undergoes final administrative review and a determination is rendered. The outcome (APPROVED or REJECTED) is recorded in the administrative system and notification is dispatched to The Applicant's registered correspondence address.

Phase IV: Credential Issuance

Upon approval, the Electronic Travel Authorisation credential is generated and electronically linked to The Applicant's travel document. Confirmation of issuance, including the credential validity period, is dispatched via electronic mail.

Factors Affecting Processing Duration

  • § 3.1Incomplete or inconsistent data in the submitted declaration may necessitate additional review cycles.
  • § 3.2Applications submitted during periods of elevated administrative volume may experience extended processing durations.
  • § 3.3Applications flagged for enhanced scrutiny by automated compliance systems may require additional adjudication time.
  • § 3.4Requests for additional documentation or clarification will pause the processing timeline until receipt of the requested materials.
  • § 3.5National holidays, administrative closures, or force majeure events may extend processing durations beyond the indicated estimates.
  • § 3.6Declarations involving nationals of jurisdictions subject to enhanced vetting protocols may require extended adjudication periods.

Supplementary Information Requests

In certain circumstances, the administrative authority may require supplementary information or documentation to complete the adjudication of a declaration. The following provisions apply:

  • § 4.1Requests for supplementary information shall be communicated via The Applicant's registered electronic mail address with clear specification of the required materials.
  • § 4.2The Applicant shall be afforded a reasonable period to respond, as specified in the request notification.
  • § 4.3Failure to furnish the requested materials within the stipulated timeframe may result in administrative closure of the declaration.
